BEWARE OF THE DEVIL’S INVITATION

Beloved, several activities as we know go on under the sun—on earth; but you would realize that most of these activities are done out of invitation.
So you would find friends invite friends to places; people find themselves doing things because they were invited to; some are invited to talk, worship, eat, etc.
But there is one particular invitation we all need to be careful of and reject—and that is the devil’s invitation.
We see from Genesis 3:1ff, how man lived in peace, harmony and love with GOD, until the devil threw in an invitation, and then boom, the fall of man.
When the serpent asked the woman (Eve), that, “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?".
And he went ahead to say that, “Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.“
That was an invitation from the devil to make the woman doubt the benevolence, justness, integrity and wisdom of GOD. And that is the nature of the devil’s invitation—intended to walk man into a place of disobedience and rebellion against GOD.
Whenever you feel like GOD is not being fair to you; that GOD is to be blamed for the evil in the world; that, GOD this, and GOD that, reject that invitation from the devil!
He, the devil, may at times come through people to invite you to questionable places, gossip about others, hate and fight others, quit doing godly things, disrespect and insult others—PLEASE, REJECT THAT INVITATION!
In the wilderness of temptations, the devil kept inviting the LORD JESUS to act in a certain way. But, we thank GOD, JESUS rejected all his invitations and rebuked him at last.
1 Peter 5:8,9 and James 4:7 teach us to resist the devil, because vs 8 of 1 Peter 5, tells us the devil moves about—with invitations—seeking whom he may devour.
THE BIBLE is replete with examples of people who accepted the devil’s invitation; like Samson, the Young Prophet from Judah, and Judas Iscariot, just to mention a few, and ended up in destruction.
Beware of the devil’s invitation and always be careful to reject it.
Proverbs 4:16, “For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.“
Shalom!
