Key Verse:
“The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”
— Nahum 1:7; KJV
Nahum, whose name means 'Consolation' or 'Comforter', had a weighty message to be delivered to the city of Nineveh which had gone back to their vomit after the LORD spared them from destruction some 150 years before.
His burden was to declare punishment for Assyrian's stronghold without any deliverance. But, the LORD promised HIS people refuge and safety in the midst of this destruction because they trusted in Him.
I believe that as at now we have all come to the knowledge that difficulties, affliction, sickness, persecution, setbacks, constraints are inevitable in life.
But, my dear one, there is a GOD.
If only we acknowledge and totally trust in Him then we shall overcome.
Many writers, Kings, prophets and renown men and women of the BIBLE have revealed and made known what happens to the people who trust in the LORD.
The LORD shall keep those who trust in Him in perfect peace (Isa. 26:3,4); Our path shall be directed by the LORD when we trust in Him (Prov. 3:5,6); What we desire shall come to pass when we trust in the LORD (Psalm 37:5).
The Prophet Jeremiah also affirms that, the one who trusts in the LORD shall be “as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” (Jer. 17:7,8).
All these people and many more did not just write about the benefits in trusting GOD but witnessed and attested to them.
It is your time today to benefit from the goodness in trusting GOD by casting all our burdens upon Him—and watch HIM work HIS Wonders.
Quote: Trust in GOD can never go unrewarded.
